From the SOME GIRLS Album
1978
The original Rolling Stones SOME GIRLS album cover had pictures of MARILYN MONROE,
Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, and RAQUEL WELCH on the cover.
Liza Minelli (representing her mother Judy Garland) and the estate of Marilyn Monroe threatened to sue for the likenesses of these celebrities with permission from the appropriate parties. This original SOME GIRLS album was pulled from the shelves and a new cover was created, and all of the Celebrity likenesses were remove, except for The BEATLES George Harrison. The New re-designed Some Girls album was quickly re-issued.
It is said that Mick Jagger apologized to Liza Minelli when he ran into her at the famed STUDIO 54 nightclub in New York.
